So I started trying to study verbal about 4 months ago, and I started by getting scores between 8 and 10. With 2 months to go, I am still getting scores between 8-10. I feel as though this is due to the fact that I have NO IDEA how to evaluate a verbal passage after I've taken it, and despite the multitude of posts about verbal strategies on this site, I can't seem to find any post that sufficiently gives a strategy for a post test evaluation. For those of you that have gotten a 10+ on verbal, what is the best way to approach a passage AFTER you've taken it to identify your weaknesses?

Any reply would be much appreciated.

I'm not a 10+ VR star (yet), but try re-reading the passages at your own pace, then go to your answer choices and compare them with the correct answers. Was your original reasoning wrong? Why? Did you miss something by accident? Did you not connect something? After I re-read the passage and re-evaluate my answer choice, the answers and my mistakes become much more clear.

Even when I go and have a look at the answer choice and see the author's reasoning, I still don't know how I learn from the mistakes I guess. I took a BR verbal test today and got an 8... I have 2 months til my MCAT. I think I'm screwed.

I got the BR verbal too. I went through a few passages and as I was answering the questions I thought "Wow, I think I'm doing well". Then I read the answers, and bombed it. I thought a lot of the answers were even more absurd than EK's. I'm staying away from it. I will use BR's passages as practice reading material, but not for questions. Maybe you should do the same?
