Just wondering if you guys/gals that have been accepted to DMU could post your GPA/MCAT. I want to gauge myself where I stand when I apply this summer. If you're not comfortable about posting it, you can private message. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have about 3.4-3.5 both science and nonscience. I'm taking the MCAT this April. Thanks for posting.

If you do a search there is a list, and don't spend to much time comparing yourself to others. your gpa is competitive and if you score above 26-27 on the MCAT you will be fine to get interviewed (probably). See, DMU is the only school that actually waitlisted me ( I withdrew to go to an MD school, so i do not knw if I would have been accepted), and I got into several DO and MD programs, so it is always a crapshoot, but if you are right around the average, it comes down to things OTHER than your numbers.

Thanks for your kind reply. Congrats on your acceptance and good luck with med school this coming August!

And good luck on your application. Just rock that MCAT, do some meaningful EC's, get good LOR's, and you are set. Seriously, don't compare yourself and your numbers. Do the activities you enjoy and get something out of, be sincere, rock that darn exam, and you will be on your way to being a doc. BTW, I think the average MCAT and GPA at DMU was 25-26 and 3.4 overrall with 3.3 science, maybe old data though. I had a 3.45/29 since you wanted to know, but don't gauge your potential on that.

I also have a friend who was accepted into DMU this year and had a 27 MCAT w/ a 3.3 overall and 3.2 science GPA! Honestly, I think getting into DO schools really has to do with personality and interviews... Practice your interview skills!

I was accepted with a 24Q and 3.8 non-science and a 3.05 science. I feel like there are three reasons I was accepted (after having been placed on the waitlist for interviews in September.)

1) They invited me to interview about a week after being waitlisted and I interviewed in early Oct and had an acceptance by Oct. 15. Applying early helped.

2) They told me that my undergrad school had a great rep and that the students coming from there were always well prepared.

3) The interview went well even when we talked about that good ol C in biochem and one of my two semesters in Ochem - but then I rocked the bio section of the MCAT!

I thought they were going to say no to me.... but I'm very happy with their decision!
