Hi all,

I know this question most likely has been answered before but I would really appreciate your clarification as I am unable to find the answer:

I would like to know how amcas categorizes postbac gpa? Do they break up the postbac gpa by year ( like 1st yr, 2nd yr, etc) or do they just lump everything into one cumulative postbac gpa?

Im curious mainly because first year of postbac, I didnt do so hot ( 3.6 cum with some Bs). However, the second year, I got straight A's/4.0'ed it giving a cumulative postbac gpa of a 3.84.

Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

Post-bac work is one line, so lumped together.

Though I imagine that the grades are listed in chronological order if one wanted to look at your trends.

I really appreciate your response! Do you think I have a strong enough trend? or will the 3.6 in postbac be too low? I mainly received several B+ grades, otherwise ive received mostly A-s and A's?

Im mainly concerned because ive heard that some schools have unofficial postbac gpa cutoffs and I was not sure whether they applied to yearly gpas or cumulative. thank you once again.

Oh I have no idea about that, I am applying just like you.

I will defer that question to those more experienced with admissions. Best of luck though!

a 3.84 post-bac, especially with an upward trend, is nothing to worry about
