Hey Folks,

I'm in a little quandary. Here is my situation:

I'm a Post-Grad, 23 years old, in Commerce. Now that I've moved to Canada, I am thinking to pursue the medical career. So, after I'm finished with my school science credits, what path should I advance with?
Should I enroll myself into a BSc or work it out in a Post-Bacc? If the later, then where/how can I pursue it? How does either affects my application?
:xf:
See, I'm pretty naive with all this.

Any input would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Do you want to pursue medical school in Canada or the US? Might impact the answer.

Schools in Canada are a lot more stats focused and as a result the best thing you can do to make yourself competitive in Canada is focus on GPA/MCAT. Depending on what your current GPA is you might need more than just a post-bac to make yourself competitive in Canada.

In the US stats are part of your application (to a greater extent). While for both Canada and US you need to shadow, volunteer etc., well-rounded is favored over solely high stats in America vs Canada. That's my input. I'm sure more people on here will be able to comment with a better plan of action. I thought the fact of US vs Canada would impact answers so wanted to make sure we were clear.

I haven't thought about that, yet. How would it impact though?

Thank you.

Thank you for your prompt reply.
Bolded1: That was news to me, really.
Bolded2: Aren't shadowing, volunteer, research etc a vital part of ECs. Can you please elaborate what more can come into an account of a well-rounded applicant?
