I'm thinking of ordering a few AAMC practice tests but not sure exactly which ones to get.
Does anyone know which ones are better than others?

Thanks 🙂

AAMC 7-11 are the best. 11 is the very best and very representative to what you will see on the real mcat.

That's largely a myth. Most similar, perhaps, but still quite different. Basically, my suggestion is to be ready for anything and place yourself in stressful circumstances as you practice. Really psych yourself out in the practice runs because the real thing is largely a psychological game.

Yea, 11 is similar but still very different

I think what caught me off-guard was the radical difference between 7-11 PS and REAL PS. My real PS has several passages that were straight out of the TBR book (the Optics chapter comes to mind). It was nothing like the AAMC PS, which was always stunningly easy. The real PS condenses articles like this one into roughly 1-2 page snippets and then asks you all sorts of physical analysis questions. That article wasn't on my test (just to clarify) but I'd look it over and make sure you can answer just about any question one could derive from it.

The BS and VR sections on mine were probably comparable to 7-11. I expect around my average on those two (13 and 11 respectively... I hope!) but I have no clue what to expect on PS... probably not the consistent 13-14 range I got on 7-11! (Maybe 11-12... I can only hope.)

THANK YOU so much for this post. I've noticed that only a few people come back and post after they've taken the MCAT about what it was like and how they should have studied. Whenever I read about an experience, it sounds very similar to your experience.

Do you think if I take AAMC 7-11 and BR 1-5 that I'll be ready? I'm using BR for physics and general chemistry and an EK/BR/PR combo for biology and verbal. I haven't really started organic yet, but I'm not that worried about it.

I agree with this 100%
