As you are probably aware, you can do a practice simulation of the COMLEX at this link to the NBOME website. They have 50 questions that you can do.

My question is, are these questions at all indicative of the difficulty level of questions on the COMLEX? Are they on-par, difficulty wise, or are they much easier than the actual COMLEX?

What about the Savarese question blocks at the back of the Savarese book? Those aren't much harder than these--are they at all comparable to COMLEX? Anybody know?

Ah, that form which I ordered but never got 😡

It'll probably come this Monday, the day of my exam

Well AmaurosisFugax?

How did the 50 questions compare? I did them today after studying for the last month and had kind of the same reaction you did... except for a few, which I will have to look up tonight because I feel that the suggested correct answer was incorrect. I hate these practice things without explanations for the answers.

Also, can anyone compare the real thing to the 100 questions that they used to have as a .pdf file. I downloaded it back in the early spring, and thankfully I still have it. I think I'll be doing it tomorrow.

I took COMLEX 1 today and felt that the NBOME practice questions ($8.00 booklets) were easier and more straightforward than the CBT questions. The questions on the actual test tpday were more ambiguous and really made u think. I did not leave the test feeling wonderful that is for sure. I will find out in a couple of months.

This is the first one on the test that I had an issue with. For me it was question #9. And when I went back just know and tried it again, all of the questions appeared to be in the same order.

9. A prepubescent child presents with patchy alopecia as shown in the exhibit (which was the back of a kids head showing a small irregular shaped oval bald spot). The most likely diagnosis is:

A. aspergillosis
B. candidiasis
C. sporotrichosis
D. tinea capitis
E. trichosporosis

I thought D., but it said A. Has anyone else heard of this, or is this just an error?

I thought it was tinea capitis as well.

To change my answer from the above post. I do think that the actual test was quite a bit more difficult than the practice questions.

I'm not sure what that means, but I did the 100 questions that used to be available in .pdf format yesterday and almost if not all of the 50 questions now in CBT format were on there. The question was was a bit different as follows:

A 12-year-old diabetic male presents with areas of alopecia on his scalp. During microscopic examination of the scrapings from the affected area, filamentous forms are seen. The most likely etiologic agent in this case is a species of

(A) Aspergillus
(B) Microsporum
(C) Rhizopus
(D) Pityrosporum
(E) Candida

The answer was actually B this time! It must be an error on the CBT version!
