Do residents have time to work as a GP while in their residency program? Is this allowed?
 
Working during residency is called "moonlighting" and it's definetely legal, but not all residency programs allow it. Some, however, will encourage it. It is a major factor for some people when choosing a residency as the supplemental income can be substantial.
 
I've heard of this being done usually over the weekends. As submlimazing has suggested, the additional income could be substantial especially for OMFS and endo
