This might be a bit niche and getting ahead of myself but I wanted to see if anyone had ideas about this and gather as much info as possible. My partner is in the military and could potentially be stationed somewhere overseas (hopefully not!). I am a dual citizen (Irish and US) so say he was stationed somewhere in Europe could I practice on a US military base as a civilian? I did talk to a vet whose husband was stationed in Japan and she was able to practice on post there. Has anyone else heard of this happening?

US military bases abroad are considered US soil for the purpose of spouses and kids being there. So you wouldn't need a license from the country to practice on base (93.4% sure on this). But if you practice off base, you're in that country and subject to it's rules.

Send an email to the veterinary department of whatever branch your husband is a part of to double check.

That makes sense, thank you! Yeah I will probably send an email to make sure 🙂

HOLD UP I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE YOU HAD TWO CREAM DACHSHUNDS IN YOUR PROFILE PICTURE. I HAVE ONE CREAM AND A BLACK DAPPLE.
Oh my gosh, your dachshunds are the cutest!! 😍I don't care what anyone says, they are the best dogs ever!
