wikipedia actually has a scope of practice list under "podiatry." however, you can get a real state by state one from one of the students if they are nice enough.

One thing you have to look at is the individual hospital itself. The state may say you can do ankles but a specific hospital has its own bylaws.

I'm pretty sure that state scope laws have been posted on here before. Do a search and I bet you'll find it.

I know that on the OPMSA website they have a link to a document that lays it out. The link goes to Scholl, they put it together.

look under links, it should be there.

Here's two links... both need some updating as i think Conn and Texas just recently changed it. The SCPM is old and probably gets data from 2004/5, APMA probably updates on a yearly basis, but doesn't explain what the hell the law means... need to get those JD guys on this forum to explain it :p

The APMA does keep a State Reference Manual on line on the APMA website. It is on the "members only" section of the site, so in order to access the information, you will need to have either a podiatrist or a podiatric medical student log on. The reference manual includes all information regarding scope of practice provisions, anti-fee discrimination provisions, any willing provide provisions, balance billing provisions, prompt payment provisions, etc., etc. Since most of this materials is extremely technical, it is posted on the members only site. The American Podiatric Medical Students' Association (APMSA) also has a chart that is updated each year in their publication, "The Graduation Handbook." That book is distributed to fourth year students upon graduation but can also be found in all of the podiatric medical school libraries.
