Just curious...Does ANYONE know of a student who has a 2.0 Science GPA, DAT of 19 Bio, 21 A.A., and 21 PAT who got accepted into Dental school, and if so, where?

Those are my stats, and I have spent 3 years working as a dental assistant. I messed up in College and now i'm paying for it.

Any suggestions on Post-Bacc programs that would admit me to give me a chance? ANY help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

you are at a serious disadvantage with those score. dental school gets more competitive every year. you could try a one year masters or a 2 year program in some hard science. good luck

I have to agree with Dr. Rex, that GPA is really low, and if you want a fighting chance these days, you are going to need some sort of post-grad work. Good luck.

Your DAT scores are great, but to be honest, I think you have zero chance with your current science GPA. The 2006 average for entering dental students was about a 3.5 GPA (http://www.dentalstudentbooks.com/dental_school_statistics.html). I don't have any specific program recommendations, but you should definitly go into a post-bac program. Find a program and get all A's if you can and you will get into dental school. Best of luck to you.

I would only repeat those science classes you got a D in, then begin a masters program in biology or something related. I think you would be wasting your time retaking a bunch of undergrad classes as a post-bac. Def put your efforts in grad work and do anything else you can to look better (research, teaching, volunteer work, etc)
