I interviewed in early November and got accepted in early December. I finally started reading the close print just in case things don't work out with other schools. There was a mention of a drug -test. I don't have the pamphlet they handed out during the interview and don't know anything about the specifics. Mt. Sinai is the only school so far that I know that does this. Why ruin my summer before med school starts?

doesnt it only take 6 weeks for the stuff to get cleared out of your system. thats plenty of time!!
plus so long as you dont do it all the freaking time (i.e. everyday) you should be fine. I had a friend who smoked maybe once a week and then was off it for like 2 weeks and took this gold bond crap that they sell at GNC. no sweat. plus if you really think about it, its not that freaking difficult to fake. just keep it real close to your body before you get to the test center.
it might be akward asking your mom for some pee though. but hey, she'll get over it!

lola- how can you live in SF with that mentality (jk) I live in SF and its the best ever... now pass the cognac!
it makes me REALLY boring/drowsy/braindead. i already feel enough of those things when i'm sober 🙂 in addition, it makes me laugh at my own bad jokes, twitch, paranoid, and i feel slow for like the whole week after using it.
alcohol is my drug of choice, but even that is overrated. the best thing ever about sf is that it is such an awesome city you don't need substances to have a good time!

what are yo doin sippin cognac? come on kid...you might as well be sippin hennessey, or if you're really high class: crystal, or the dom p! where im from, we be chieffin' the dankness...puts even that haight/ashbury of yours to shame. and cognac? come on man...when i need a lift, i get after the O.E.! you know how we do in southern cal...where do you live in san fran? i was just there, and i went to this bar called "kennedy's" and i almost felt like i was in heaven...sitting in the back, chieffin a nice sized spliff, sippin on hemp ale...ahhh, the life...

What about E? How long does that stay in your system? Is there a test for it, or well it just show up as meth? Is there anything you can take to detox?

you are more correct than ever, although in the midst of hearing alphabet working his game on local lola, i figured he was a little bit more high class than the good ol' henny...i figured he is sippin on remy or "pass the" courvoisier...for me, henny is a treat, and ghetts at the same time, as it burns every last hair down my esophagus...reminding me of the good life to come...

Does anyone else kind of have a philosophical problem with this? I guess I just find drug testing without probably cause somewhat reprehensible and a total violation. thoughts anyone?

Don't sweat it. You're fine tokin, but maybe quit a couple (I'm not sure where the number 6 came from...that's f'n ridiculous) of weeks beforehand. Make sure you don't do any strenuous exercise before the test. The reasoning is this:
Smoke-->munchies-->fat buildup w/ THC stored-->exercise before interview-->fat burns and THC released into bloodstream-->drug screen goes berzerk-->get kicked out of Mt. Sinai before school year begins (think DJ Jazzy Jeff style on Fresh Prince of Bel Air).
Don't bring anything elaborate w/ you. I had a pretty extensive drug screen at my work to the point where they followed you into the bathroom (but not the stall, thank god) and measured the temp of your urine (to make sure you didn't bring any pouches of urine).

Most likely it will be a urine test, but a someone I know had to have a hair sample taken. Drug use can be traced back to 2-3 months using this method. 😱
