Pre-Interview Dinner - Dress Code

Definitely slacks and dress shirt. It's better to end up being a bit overdressed than for it to look like you didn't care enough and dressed too casual.

For socials at restaurants or bars would it be okay to wear a dress? Some of my interviews have mixers with other students only and I don't want to overdress it.

Yes as long as it’s tasteful and conservative. I remember one dinner where a girl showed up in a leather miniskirt and stilettos.
No, although this WAS ortho, she did not match.

Not to derail this thread, but how useful have people found these dinners? I'm trying to miss as little work as possible, which means I plan on flying late the day before. Is it worth it to fly in earlier in order to make these events? Thanks!

Yes, absolutely! it's all about networking and getting to know the school. Medical students provide the most helpful and honest advice.
