What is the verdict on updating schools (pre-interview) on activities I started around primary submission time?

One big deficiency on my AMCAS app is my complete lack of clinical experience. When I submitted my primary, I started 1 hospital job and 2 volunteer positions. While I did mention these new positions on my application, I put these experiences as 0 hours. So if you just read my AMCAS app, it would say that I have 0 hours of clinical experience.

Now that it's been around 6 months, I've worked about 550 clinical hours and volunteered about 150 hours. But more importantly, I've gained a better grasp of medicine and healthcare through my job as an ER scribe. Would it be appropriate to update schools on this?

I would certainly think so, but make sure the school(s) to which you send the update are welcoming of updates.

For those schools that welcome updates, that's worth an update!

Lol OP I love how you just banged out what most pre-meds do over 3 years, btw. Kudos.

Raised a couple grand for charity with some colleagues. Worth an update??

Edit: just wanted to piggyback on OP's thread

a couple grand can come from a single donor, at least that's the perspective of someone who's involved with charitable donations.
personally, I don't think it's worth an update, but I'd defer to other folks with more application experience.

For what it's worth, we hosted a charity concert to do so (several hundred ticket sales did the trick). Hope this is something worthwhile to mention
