If you had asked me this 6 months ago:
My college sent LORs to my top choice school twice to ease my paranioa. Said school somehow managed to lose both of them after notifying me I was complete and not tell me of the error until 2 1/2 months later - postponing my interview by that much time. FML.
But these days, not that big of a deal. Still am going somewhere...just not there.

Hello, language evolves. "Actual" meanings change. I'm totally opposed to discrimination, but people using words in ways you don't like does not (always) = discrimination.

How is not wanting to read people using "gay" as an insult being on a high horse? If I were calling people(or school, situations, whatever) **** or n*gger left and right, I would be banned. SDN is "politically correct" to a large extend. Hell, you can't even use good old Anglo-Saxon words like "f*ck".

As debbidala said, it becomes presumptuous when you accuse others of insulting homosexuals because they use the word differently from how you use a word.
Ask any linguist and they will tell you that society and common usage determines the meaning of a word and that the meaning of a word is subject to change. With a word like "gay" used so frequently, it's no surprise that its meaning has changed so rapidly.
Just because one person does not agree that the word's meaning has changed does not mean that he/she can accuse others of being "hateful." Describe that posturing however you want. I describe it as being on a high horse.

Nope. "Gay" is a term used to describe the homosexual community in a descriptive way, just as it would be fair to use the term "black" or "white" or "Chinese" or "Arab" for other populations.
If, however, we described this thread with slurs such as "***", "d*ke", or whatever else is an anti-gay slur (I can't even think of any), then your point would be relevant. As it stands now, however, you're just bringing in non sequiturs.
