just some general questions that i want to ask the pre-meds on the SDN. first, how competitive is competitive when it comes to your pre-med courses. second question, was their a huge gap for you to overcome regarding you being prepared for pre-med would you say that the science classes you toke at high school adequately prepared you for the pre-med req.

Your second question depends on the school you went to high-school at, and the school you are attending college at. If you took an AP science course in high school, it is almost the equivalent of a science course at college; however, I would still take it at the college level to make sure you have an entire understanding of the subject. As far as competitive, everything is pretty competitive as a pre-med, you want to try your hardest to get a 4.0 in every class because there are people that have 4.0's applying to med-school. Some of the general science classes are weed-out classes. I studied more for one semester of organic than I studied my entire 4 years of high school if that puts things in perspective for you.
