Pre-Med looking for Clinical Exp in the Inland Empire

I am a 2nd year Biochemistry student who would love to have the opportunity to gain some clinical experience in a physicians office. I do have a degree in computer networks, so adjusting to new technology will be no problem. I would prefer that the position you offer is within a 30 mi radius of Riverside, CA 92507 but am open to offers that would compensate for anything over that distance. Does anyone think it would be too forward if I were to stop by a local clinic, introduce myself, and inquire about a possible shadowing position? Obviously I would do research about the clinic and learn about their purpose is etc.... input please
