Great opportunity to gain experience in a medical office/oncology setting at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, NY. This Medical Scribe position is based in a physician practice within our new 6 floor Center for Cancer Care. Cutting edge medical care is provided in a stunning new facility that includes over thirty infusion bays, radiation therapy, multiple physician practices, conference center, and beautiful patient and family areas.

The Scribe performs all clerical and information technology functions for a physician in a clinic setting. This includes primary responsibility of the operation of the electronic health records and electronic dictation system. Anticipates the physician needs to facilitate patient flow. Medical Scribes must be discreet, tactful, and modest in performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care.

Requirements:

-High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
-1-3 years of related medical office experience strongly preferred.
-Must be proficient in typing and good at spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication. Must be able to listen to complex medical information and summarize in a clear, complete, and concise fashion. -Excellent English composition skills required to generate professional, polished writing at a high rate of production. Handwriting must be clear and legible
-Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand and accurately transcribe dictated reports.
-Ability to learn and use all functions of an electronic medical record and transcription software.
-Proficient in the Microsoft Office package.
-Proficient in typing at a high speed with accuracy.
-Experience working with very confidential information and HIPPA confidentiality standards.
