Hey, I tried to get a job at a hospital and at a doctor's office but couldn't get one so I tried at nursing homes cause I thought they would always be hiring. Still was hard to get a job but I did find one. It turned out to be a good experience to put on the application, and I thought to myself that I didn't know any other premed that had worked in a nursing home before. Anybody here worked at one, and/or have an opinion about how it would look on your application?
Thanks

Adcoms know that it is hard work -- hands on work -- with patients (or "residents" in nursing home parlance) who can be difficult. Nursing home work is "humble service" and those are two words that adcoms love.

Good luck.

Nursing homes will provide an excellent background for hands on care (if it is the right home). You can get additional clinical experience by volunteering at a hospital (most hospitals are always looking for volunteers).

If you are looking for other employment, you might want to get certified as an EMT.
