dont worry people, only 30% of entering first-year students are either not in a relationship or not married.

that means this will be 15% men and 15% women. so in a class of 150, about 20 single men and 20 single women in each class..

a little odd huh? come to my freaking university.. where guy:girl ratio is already 60:40... it was 70:30 when i was a freshman.

and with the slim 30-40% girls, the odds are not good. and the goods are odd.

I'm single TOO! I'm actually interviewing right now, so there is hope! There are singles out there. You just have to wait for the right one to come along when you're not looking!! Or at least that's my philosophy on the subject. 😛

i kid you not. my school used to be 70:30 guys to girls ratio back in the day when i was freshman.

u should see the engineering school where out of 30 guys, there are only 2 girls per class.

in my science school, it's more 50/50.

but in the CS school, there is 1 girl for every 15 guys.

I don't care about the number of singles from a prospective romance standpoint. I wouldn't want to date a med student anyway! Too cerebral, too anal, too obsessive, too boring. 🙂 I stick to dating dumb artists.

However, I really would want to go to a school with a lot of singles because I want FRIENDS!! I want to meet cool people to study with and enjoy those few-and-far-between social breaks. Man, I hope I get to go to school with cool people. Please, God, please... give me fun singles. Or committed peoples who can associate with singles-- not always running home to cuddle with their partner.

what about meeting another gay guy in med school... if that 30% number is right, and that 1 out of every 10 statistic is accurate, i only have 1.5 % of my classmates to choose from.... that's like... 2 guys. as my luck would have it, they've probably scoped/groped each other out from the very beginning of the year. oh well, i guess i'll have to hope for a nearby undergrad campus *shudder* undergrad....blech (j/k)

Take it for what it's worth :

- 170+ students in my class
- 100 girls, 70 boys
- About 10 % of the girls are singles (these women know what they want and they're going to get it, no matter what)
- About 50 % of the boys are singles (guess being a future doc isn't all it's cracked up to be, women-wise).
- About 10 % of the boys are gays (leaves more women for me. Yay)
- Less than 5 % of the students are dating within our class.

I'm definitely not a Harvard girl, but a lot of guys run away when they find out you have a brain. That's why I'm looking forward to going to a med school where I'll be average 🙂 Plus with only 30% or so women, I'm in the minority and I 😍 a man in uniform!!!
