Hey guys, I've just started on my senior year and currently i'm taking pharmacology/toxicology, analytical chemistry, and art history. As of now, i have taken most of the pre-reqs and i was wondering if you can tell me what you think of my grades so far. I have not taken the PCAT and i have had some volunteer experience but i'm not trying to make this into a WAMC thread cause i know i still have lots more to go. Here are my grades as of now:

Speech: B
Microeconomics: B
English I/II: B/B
Gen Chem I/II with lab: B/C (A in both labs)
Gen Bio I/II with lab: B/C (A in both labs)
Organic I/II with lab: C/D (B in lab) (I will be re-taking organic 2 as soon as possible)
Calculus 1: A
Statistics: A
Gen Physics I/II: B+/B+ (A in lab)
Human Physiology: B+
Biochemistry 1: A

I still have yet to take Microbiology and human anatomy, but this it for now.

Pretty impressive in the Math department. You could definitely improve the science grades but overall pretty good IMO.

your kind of in the same boat as me but I got A's and B's in all my classes cept the Chemistry classes (Chem I C+....Chem II C....Orgo D then B+....Orgo II C). im also a senior....whats your GPA? mines is a 3.31.

If you are serious about pharmacy, I would consider taking both chemistry classes again during the summer, and certainly both Organic Chemistry classes again during the normal length semesters.
I'm pretty confident those grades need to be higher. It will be a much different story the second time, just don't assume you know the material already but continue to work hard in class.
Pharmacy school will accept a C in a class, but you should have something to show that you do indeed have ability in that area. Some schools may disregard gen. chem. grades if organic chem. are better. YMMV.
You need to get both of those organic grades up if you can though.

Yeah those organic chem grades need to be retaken. Even more alarming is the fact that your grades seem to be trending downwards. You need a really strong semester with some difficult science classes thrown in in order to convince admissions that you can hack it in pharm school. The C in the second freshman chemistry is not helping it shows that you may not be able to hack it in pharm school. I am not saying that you should retake that just that you need to prove that you can handle chemistry. improving your orgo grades will do just that. And come PCAT time study your a** off for the chem section, don't reinforce what your early grades show but rather knock that section out of the park to show that you struggled at first worked hard and made chemistry your bit**

if you take upper level bio and show that you can make A's in them, then your B and C in general bio will look too bad. also, if you take upper level chem courses and make A's in them, they'll look at those more than your organic chem grades. that is, of course, after you retake organic 2.
