Hey everyone I am a senior about to graduate and begin the application process for the 2017 cycle. While looking over schools on the PTCAS website I was confused about certain pre req requirments. If anyone could give me some insight into the following questions I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance for the answers.

1.) UNC Chapel Hill has 4 hours of Intro Chemistry listed on the PTCAS website as a pre-req, but in the box next to it that explains what classes it accepts for the pre-req requirement the only class that they accept is "Inorganic chemistry". My major is exercise physiology, and in all the programs I have looked at applying I have not seen one that has required inorganic chemistry as a pre-req. Am I missing something here?

2.) Per ECU DPT program: "You may grade replace 1 class per content area without penalty. One Biology, 1 Chemistry, 1 Physics, and 1 Math, Psychology, or Statistics can be grade replaced."

Does anyone know what they mean by without penalty? And also are they saying you can retake 1 course out of all these specific courses and thats it OR are they saying you can take 1 class in chemistry, 1 class in biology, etc.

1. Inorganic Chemistry is normally called General Chemistry but call the school for clarification
2. From what it sounds like to me is that you can receive a poor grade in these classes and retake them and they will replace it with the new grade. Yet I would still clarify that with the school too.

Thank you for the insight. That makes sense about the Chemistry. One other question I just thought about, that program requires 4 semester hours in Chemistry, does this mean I can use any General Chemistry grade I want for that particular pre-req? I got a better grade in Gen Chem II than Gen Chem I so I would rather them calculate the GPA with the Gen Chem II grade rather than the Gen Chem I.

I was a chemistry major, and Inorganic Chemistry was part of an advanced sequence. You need intro chem. From UNC DPT website:
  1. General Chemistry I with Lab (or equivalent introductory course) (minimum combined 4.0 credit hours with course and lab)

Always check the program website itself if you're unclear about PTCAS.
