I'm currently a sophomore taking mostly pre-req courses, but I've been looking at a few dental school websites, and I'm not clear on whether pre-reqs are to be completed before applying to schools, or as long as you have them completed before matriculation. I noticed some schools say they are required for enrollment, but they list a few required elective courses that I am not sure if I should take before applying so that the school sees that I am taking it now?

Thanks.

You only have to have pre-reqs finished by the time you matriculate, not before you apply. I was accepted to multiple schools before finishing physics 1/2, biochemistry, and vertebrate physiology.

its Okay to apply without having all required classes, but you must show proof of completion before matriculation

But it has to make sense, like, you can't apply when you still need 5 pre-reqs to take lol.... because theyr not gonna be able to judge your grades and see how you handle those sciences

The possible exception to this being Ohio State :

HOW MANY PREREQUISITES
DO I NEED TO COMPLETE BEFORE I APPLY?
You must complete 2/3 of the prerequisite courses at the time your AADSAS application is submitted (9/13 semester courses or 10/14 quarter courses). The more prerequisite courses you have completed successfully at the time your AADSAS application is submitted, the better.
HOW MANY HOURS DO I NEED TO APPLY ?
You need to complete a minimum of 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours including prerequisite courses at an accredited four-year college or university.

Does anyone know if this is a hard and fast rule, or more of a guideline? My brother's an OSU dental alum and I was planning on applying there, but I'll be 1 semester and ~4 credit hours short of what they have stated above.
