I was just curious if schools require that all pre-reqs are completed prior to applying. I will have everything done except for organismal biology by the time I apply ( i'm taking it this next fall). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Nope. Prereqs generally have to be completed by matriculation, not application. Check with the admissions offices of the schools that you'll be applying to, but I've never heard of that being a problem.

Good luck!

I'm sure you'll be fine. Most of the pre-reqs are only needed to take the mcat. I'm assuming this wasn't a problem?

from what i understand, as long as you have the necessary coursework for the MCAT and can complete the pre-reqs by matriculation you'll be fine. i have only one semester or quarter of an "english" class (i'm a freaking classics major...ugh...) and i doubt it will hold me back. if i need to, i'll do it the summer before i head out to med school.

hi, i'm taking cell&molecular biology now in freshman year. What is the other course that i should take for the mcat?

And i plan to finish my prereqs next year when i take the org. chem, so then i should take the mcat the summer after my sophomore year?

You mean fulfilling your general biology requirement?

Minimum class list
General Biology I and II with labs for each
General Chemistry I and II with labs for each
General Physics I and II with labs for each
Organic Chemistry I and II with labs for each.

With those it helps to take Physiology for the human body based questions. I also used genetics and microbiology to answer a few questions.

You say you have had cell bio. Didn't you have to take gen bio first? Anyway cell biology is also a great class for the MCAT.

Take the MCAT whenever you feel ready after taking the suggested courses and when you have had time to study. Good luck.
