Not making any excuses or making explanations, but I received a C- in cell biology and it's the only class dragging my GPA down. Right now I just want to forget about the grade and work harder and differently from now on in my studying and approach to classes, but do I NEED to retake this class? This is the second semester of Biology I've taken, and I have read that you need 2 semesters of biology for medical school and a grade of C or higher (generally), so do I need to retake this class because I got a C- OR would taking a higher level biology course and doing well enough there 'substitute' for cell bio for the 2 semester biology requirement? (I got an A- in my first semester of bio, intro). Or would this cell bio course count as one of the necessary semesters of biology and therefore not be acceptable because I got a C-?
And could this grade be a deal breaker in the future, regardless of retakes or if I get A's in courses like orgo and other higher level courses?
