Depends on the person. Some people kick and scream about how it's inaccurate, full of fake profiles, and has outdated school information. They obviously see no benefit. Some people know how to look past that and might actually enjoy looking at trends and dates and comments and movement and also known how to not accept everything they see as fact. Sure, some people just freak out and take it too seriously. In that sense, it doesn't help.

On an elementary level, It's a quick way to see stats and school lists of users here who like to solicit advice without having to repeat it all over different threads.

I'm assuming you are asking sincerely and not one of those who falls under my first comment.

Yeah, I was asking sincerely. 🙂 Who would waste their time making a fake profile on the site? 😕

Predents is a good way to gauge stats and lists, but overall I personally haven't found a lot of the profiles that helpful because I feel like most people don't give enough information about EC's to actually be super helpful for me. I get that it's a numbers game, but I do think that EC's can make a big difference in applications, and would actually be more helpful for me than just knowing GPA, state residency, DAT scores, and school lists. I feel that with only the basics (which is what most people give), it really doesn't help me that much. So I was asking to see whether it helps other people more.

Could have to do with spam, malware, the site being advertised too much, any number of reasons.
