did you write a brand new personal statement or just change the last paragraph of your radiology personal statement? i just don't seem to have a whole page worth to say about why i've always wanted to do a prelim year. advice?

in eras, did you tell them what specialty you were interested in doing, or did you leave that field blank when applying for prelim/trans?

thanks!

I used the same statement for radiology and all prelim/TY spots. No difference. And I've gotten invites from a number of prelims and TYs already. If you have something that your burning to tell the prelim programs, then include it in the statement. Otherwise, move on to more important things.

And I did indicate to them that I was applying to rads.

I was on my transitional internship program's application review team and looked at applicants. Many had the same personal statement. When I applied I changed up a paragraph I think about what I wanted out of my internship year. Other than that it don't matta....

I edited my radiology statement to make it specific to TY programs. Not sure how much difference it made but a couple of TY directors did tell me how they were glad to see that I had at least put a little effort into my TY application.

They are not too concerned from what I've seen. If you really want to make it specific just put in some sausage at the end about how you want a program that will help you prepare for your rads residency.
