Hi,

I am a 4th year DO student and will be applying this year for PM&R and would like to know what is preferred for intern year. I have recently heard from a PM&R program director that those who choose to do an Osteopathic TRI will not be eligible for certified ACGME Fellowships. I know currently this is not the case but is this something that will be changing in the next few years?

No, the osteopathic residencies are being merged together with the allopathic ones. I don't think anyone will care what you do, and you will be ranked and matched before they would know.

99% chance that it will be absolutely fine to do a TRI. I, personally, didn't want to take a chance and chose the ACGME Prelim Medicine as a DO route. I'm in my 3rd week of internship and it can be tough at times, but I feel like I will learn more than if I did a TRI.
