Hello, I work at University at Buffalo and I create videos and work with the Prehealth Office here. We're starting a new series of videos for Prehealth students... The first two we just created is for students considering a Gap year between college and going to medical school:

I'd love input from this community. Are there any videos that you'd like see created that you think would help other Premed students? I just like creating stuff, and the people I work with want to help students, so those are the ultimate goals. Premed is universally applicable, so with helping our students at UB we can hopefully do things that can benefit anyone interested in health professions. Hope you like the videos if you watch them, and please let me know if you have any ideas for future videos.

just decided to take a gap year and loved the videos. thanks for the post

Very well made. I think some common topics around here are how to 'repair' a low GPA and what postbac and SMP options exist, how to get clinical and research experience as well as some examples of clinical volunteering, the application process and timeline, and how to create a well balanced school list.

I knew some of those things already because I have been planning a gap year, but it was a really helpful video. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, I know that our Prehealth advisors get those questions a great deal, and from what I gather is an extremely intricate subject matter. They've been addressing these questions for a long time, and I'm sure they'd have some great insight on this. The options seem so numerous - Post Bac, Offshore, repeating classes, alternative options. I would love to create a video series for this, and will address this this upcoming week with them. I can see this definitely being a playlist of options and perhaps I can get some interviews included with some admissions folks from medical schools as well. Thank you for the suggestion!
