Hi everyone,

As a first time applicant I would like to get some feedback from those who have previously applied. I am considering applying to over 15 dental schools, is that looked upon in a negative light? I would like to get feedback on NYU, I have heard some negative rumors about half of the class getting kicked out after the first year, can we clarify this. Also, any recommendations on how to Ace the DAT i.e supplemental material, or study methods that can help. Appreciate everything.. Thanks!

Hey predentknight. There is a ton of information about all your questions in the forum. Just use the "search this forum" option on the upper right and type in what you are looking for.

It is not looked upon as negative to apply to so many schools. If it comes up in an interview then just explain why you did so.

Why wouldn't you want to maximize your chances?

8 schools cost 900. Applying to 8 more is 300-400 more. Double your chances for half the price? You may not know where you want to go and ewant to see all possible chances when making a decision. Go for it.

DAT, dat destroyer, kaplan, programs are out there, use them to full advantage.

If you do well at NYU then you don't have to worry about it. They dont try to fail you. And its not 1/2 the class. Someone from NYU can clarify this, but like ^^^^^said, this toic has run its course seveal times and a search will bring up valuable information.

www.DMDstudent.com for AADSAS letters (examples), letters of recommendation, etc.

Sorry for the redundancy.. I literally just signed up for the account seconds before the post. Thanks for all the info, appreciate it.
