The post-doc that I'm working with this summer requested that I send in a CV along with any papers / abstracts that I've done so that he can write me a letter of recommendation. As a rising sophomore, I only have one year of college coursework and lab experience under my belt, so my CV is rather sparse.

I was wondering what sort of things I should include on my CV — is it just a one-page thing listing my extracurricular involvements and my lab experience? Should I list the classes I'm taking next semester? Honors I've received in college? Should I put any high school stuff on there or just omit it entirely?

Sorry for the rather dumb question, but I'm a bit new at these sorts of things. Thanks for any suggestions / guidance you may have for me.

Leave out any H.S. stuff. Any involvement since you entered college is fine including honors. Relevent coursework should be fine since you are a sophomore but will become unnecessary later. Don't worry about it being too short. Be detailed but don't try to make it fluffy.

Apart from the details of your academic path till now, you can list your key accomplishments in the last one year. This need not be very eloborate running several pages. Probably a 2-3line synopsis will do.

All the best.
