Hi

I am about to start FM and then IM, and i really want to make the most out of it in terms of learning, I read through a couple of threads, and online advice, and the amount of different books offered just seems to be too much (way more people prefer different books...unlike for step1/basic science...where most people jsut knew..goljan,fa,etc).

I am having a really hard time deciding, plus it seems like everyone i talk to in rotations barely does any readings at all.

I'm thinking of getting harrisons on my iphone, and pharmacopia , but what else do I really need for medicine to get the most out of it?

also, I've heard of people using UW throught the rotations, question is, is it not worth saving it for step II studying? or step II doesn't really require that much studying compared to step I?

thanks

Most med students read Harrisons cover to cover before their IM rotation. I assumed everyone knew this?

Step up to medicine for IM, blueprints for FP. Doesn't really matter. All the books say the same thing.

Everyone's got their own way of studying. I actually had a UWorld subscription through third year and found that it helped somewhat prepare for shelf exams.

I found MKSAP and Kaplan flash cards very helpful as well. And, I used First Aid for Medicine as a framework. (ie I would annotate with info from MKSAP or UWorld).
