Nothing if you are coming to Temple. If you are super ambitious you could brush up on your Biochem and Histology but not really necessary. The first year at Temple is a breeze, its the second year you have to worry about. For now just enjoy the fact that you got in to dental school and stop worrying.

Seriously not a bad idea, two weeks ago a member of my carpool walked out the back of the school and witnessed a a gunfight breakout in which there were about twenty shots fired in all. Not trying to scare the incoming students but Temple is a crazy place sometimes.

im from the west coast and things are pretty nice here. Im going to temple in the fall too...it does sound pretty scary...u scare the **** out of me... 😱...

You don't have to live near the school, and that was really an isolated incident, that stuff usually only happens after dark. Go to school in the day and back to your safe apartment at night. Temple actually does a good job with security, like the two secretaries out back on their smoke break who aided my carpool buddy in getting safely back into the school when the gunfire erupted and were actually quoted as saying, " come on, back inside, in case they come lookin' for witnesses." All kidding aside I have never felt unsafe, just use common sense and always walk in a group.

I'm a first year, and I will tell you how it is regarding life at Temple, if you couldn't tell already. Feel free to ask.

The first year was great. It probably will seem a lot like undergrad, and that's coming from a guy who did his undergrad at Arizona State, so it could potentially be lots easier than your undergrad. We just finished Spring semester and Summer session is only two classes, pre-clinic and physiology. The first year gets progressively easier, and the you get slammed at the start of your second year. You will enjoy the first year.

Hey guys i was wondering where good places to live or where most students live. Im looking for a fairly cheap place that isnt in the ghetto. I actually was in Phili the last couple days looking for apartments. I searched apartments from rent.com and most turned out to be what appeared to be crack houses. Any suggestions and is anyone looking for a roomate? I just got put on the roomate list.
