HI. I start medical school May.
Any deficiency I've had thus far in my educational career came from a lack of nothing other than preparation (& my social butterfly-ness). But I've learned my lesson so I intend to start prepping for the USMLE Step 1 starting day 1. I already bought "First Aid for the USMLE STEP 1 2016". I'll study and annotate the contents of this book as I move forward with each subject. Thoughts on that? Am I setting myself up to burn out too quickly?

Also, what other brands of book/ study methods are most effective? I just really want to utilize the right resources and my time in the most efficient way possible. Any bit of guidance would be highly appreciated! Thanks all.

The best thing you can do is to study your ass off once school starts and really learn the material well your first time through.

Here we go again. Focus on classes. Don't worry about board prep or first aid or annotating until you start systems at the earliest.

Tons of threads on this with lots of good info. 99% of which say to just focus on classes.

Seconded. Do well in your courses first and foremost. And maybe the summer after MSI, if you really want, you can read through sections in FA. But honestly, it doesn't make a difference.
