Well, at the end of this semester, I will have all the classes I need to apply to my school of choice. I am kinda planning on just working for the next half year to get some extra cash before, hopefully, starting pharm school. Will it look bad taking a semester off?? Should I take classes that are in the pharm program in advance to look more 'keen'?? or does this not really matter?

You may not be eligible for financial aid if you don't complete 24 semester of 36 quarter credits since last summer term. You may want to keep that in mind.

I will be in the same situation as you at the end of this upcoming spring. I am uncertain what do either but I am leaning towards taking classes and working/volunteering for next fall. The additional courses will fill prerequisites for add'l pharm schools as a back-up. Most likely I will take the minimum full time load to qualify for a small loan for tuition. I am strapped for cash so I would like to work and get some additional volunteer work in during that time.
I will say do not take classes that you do not need. I am in Calculus II right now because I could not get into Physics I this semester and it is a rough time. At this point I do not care how challenging it made my schedule look, I just want to get it done.

You could do that, or classes required by other pharm schools (just in case) unless you're only applying to your top choice and that's it.

IMO, you should instead pursue your schools by personally going in and talking to them. Find out why you don't have an interview scheduled.

You may or may not need to take more classes. A school should be able to tell you how you can get into their program.

My point is that you may be wasting your energy by guessing what will make you look like an attractive candidate. By personally talking with each school you would like to pursue, you will get a clearer picture.
