  1. Pre-Pharmacy
I dont know how the pre-reqs work
do you really have to have ALL those humanity related classes?? I meet all of the requirements for 2 of the schools I am applying to (UMD,Mercer) but VCU requires aloot of electives and Howard requires 6 humanities.
If i have extra credit hours in other required classes do they count that? like most school want 3 hrs of calculus and i have 8 and its also like that for my physics, and some other classes. Like for howard in socio.behavioral i have 9 credits (6 required) and 3 humanities (6 required)...so could I use the extra 3 credits to cover the humanites?????get what im sayin?? LOL
..
do they factor that in to the TOTAL or do i HAVE to have the minimum in EACH category:

You just have to meet the MINIMUM number of hours in each category. Check with each school's pre-requisites to see if a course can count in more than one category.

To the OP - while I typically refrain from being a grammar nazi, please note that a lot is two words. Alot is simply not a word. This made the digg top 10, being one of ten words no one should have issues with.

Well, if the OP is going to be a pharmacist, he will have to use proper grammar and proper spelling. Otherwise he will lose credibility.

you are right about that, but I didnt think forums required proofreading before the submissions of every post. It is kind of ridiculous to me.

To OP: Yes, you need ALL of them. Humanities are classes like music, english, history, foreign language, etc. Nothing hard science or math based.

I think humanities is the one pre-req area where all pharmacy schools should be the same. I couldn't apply to several schools like Temple because they have the stupidest pre-req requirements I've ever seen. Mosaic I: Intellectual Heritage I and Mosaic II: Intellectual Heritage II are two classes on Temple's pre-req list. Where the hell would I find that apart from actually going to Temple and taking it there? Furthermore, they require 5 electives that MUST include courses in the areas of U.S. Society [3 s.h.], Race and Diversity [3 s.h.], International Studies OR Foreign Language [6 s.h.], and The Arts [3 s.h.]. These kind of hoops that schools make applicants jump through is exactly why the application process is such a pain.

Apart from microbiology, which some schools require and others don't (read: my school), my entire spring semester is nothing but stupid humanities for OTHER schools that I'm applying to. I'm already done with Rutgers's pre-reqs. It's really a pain in the ass.

I agree that it is frustrating that all of the approx. 200 schools have different pre-reqs. When I was reviewing their criteria and made a list of what I'd have to take in addition to the classes for my major, it was ridiculous - I could've been in school for an extra 2 years just to satisfy all of them. So, I made a list of the least amount of prereqs I could take that would be common to the schools I was initially interested in and then kept cutting until I reached a realistic level.
