So does anyone know what;s the case if I don't have one of the pre-req's for a school? It's better if I apply and see what happens or just don't apply to those schools?

You can still apply to these schools, but if you're an applicant that they're interested in, you will be expected to fulfill the missing prereqs before matriculation (ie: complete your biochem before the conclusion of the coming Spring semester).

Wait! some schools, like UMDNJ, require that all prerequisites be fulfilled prior to applying. Check before you spend your money!

If the school looks at applicants that do not have all pre-reqs completed, then yes. Some schools say to have about 3/4 of the prerequisites completed. It all depends, but generally, more is better.
Pardon me. I guess none of the schools that I've considered had that requirement. Thanks for the correction.

I would try to plan on taking the course before entering dental school. If you have no intention of taking it and you say that in an interview, you may or may not be accepted. If you do plan on taking it, mention it in the interview! It will most likely get brought up. Or you can call the school and ask the admissions office what are the odds of getting accepted without having taken the course. I would say odds are slim, but there is always a chance that they prefer it, but it isn't mandatory.
Some schools have biochem as a requirement, and others have it as a class that is beneficial to have taken. Same goes with calculus, some require it while others say it may be beneficial. If it is a pre-req, I would say that it is must to have the course completed before entering dental school.
