I would try to plan on taking the course before entering dental school. If you have no intention of taking it and you say that in an interview, you may or may not be accepted. If you do plan on taking it, mention it in the interview! It will most likely get brought up. Or you can call the school and ask the admissions office what are the odds of getting accepted without having taken the course. I would say odds are slim, but there is always a chance that they prefer it, but it isn't mandatory.
Some schools have biochem as a requirement, and others have it as a class that is beneficial to have taken. Same goes with calculus, some require it while others say it may be beneficial. If it is a pre-req, I would say that it is must to have the course completed before entering dental school.
