Hi guys!
I'm currently in a little bit of a pickle. I'm currently on my first application cycle for vet school and I finished my undergraduate degree this past May, but without all of the necessary prerequisites for all the schools I'm applying to. I need to take Organic Chemistry 1&2, Physics 1&2, Microbiology, and Biochemistry. I have been planning to take these classes at a local State school, but as a non-matriculating student I am not able to register for these classes until mid august. Both microbiology and organic chemistry are already filled.
If I am able to get into these classes at my local community college and take them there instead, would it be frowned upon by veterinary schools? It's not like this is my first choice, but I don't know if I can wait another year to get into these classes at a state school. I'm going to try to hound the professors and the department chairs at the state schools as much as I can, but nothing is guaranteed.
My only other option would be to take them at a local private school, but that would only incur more debt on my part. Would this be something that I shouldn't cut completely out of the picture? Is the debt from 6-7 private school classes that much better than taking courses at a community college?
Thanks guys in advance!!
