Hello!

I am a sophomore and I am beginning to look at different vet schools and the prereqs they require for admission. This might be a dumb question but I want to make sure of the answer so I don’t have to worry about it anymore.

Most of the schools I’ve looked at require electives (usually around 10 credit hours) outside of the classes that are required.

Do these electives count as anything that is not on the prerequisite list? Or does it have to be courses that are not needed to get my bachelor’s degree?

Example: I have to take ecology to complete my biology degree but it is not on the prerequisite list, so could that count as an elective for vet school?

Thank you!

some schools specify science electives, but essential yes. Any classes can fall under that.
