Anyone able to do this? Or does anyone have any free adsupported eprescribing software they can recommend?

This was asked on a PM News email within the last month. So... if you are willing to suffer reading the newsletter for a few weeks back you may find an answer. (I tried looking through my emails for you but couldn't find it: EDIT - I found it. See my post below for some options)

BUT you could learn so much more.
DID YOU KNOW:
-New podiatrists these days are BAD at Biomechanics. But don't worry! We have a conference of old NY podiatrists who will set them straight! Learn how to scaremonger and sell orthotics like a pro.

-We need a new generation of undertrained barely surgical podiatrists who LOVE clinic!

-Find out the answer to great questions like why won't insurance pay for a 11056 on a healthy 20 year old?!?

-See amazing radiographic outcomes of MIS surgeons. Weren't we just making fun of those stupid young non-biomechanical podiatrists. Well check out how much we can shorten the 1st ray into new distorted positions ...In YOUR OFFICE. CHA-CHING. I used to only do 1-2 bunions a week. Now I do 42! Come to my conference.

-Did you know PODIATRY PRESENTS is doing a great conference somewhere exotic. Be lectured by the finest VA podiatrists to ever defraud the government. Check out the the power of epifix to prevent ALL amputations. Guaranteed! Sign up soon because this last conference before everyone involved goes to jail.

-And so much more.

Back on topic if you have a DEA you can just order Rx pads online with your info on them. Make sure to document and keep your own records. I'm not sure if this answers your question.

In terms of eprescribing software I don't know, but most pharmacies take orders via phone too.

RE: Mandatory e-Prescribing in Florida
From: Elliot Udell, DPM, Vladimir Gertsik, DPM

There are some less expensive programs you can buy to e-prescribe. One is Veradigm.com. It’s part of Allscripts. They have plans that range from 9 to 18 dollars a month. There are other programs as well. Check them all out.

For those who are near retirement, you can ask your state for exemption. Go to their website and try to find it.

I also use the Veradigm eprescribe, the $9 a month version, and I am happy with it. Once you get into it, you’ll find it is better than writing the prescription and it is at the pharmacy immediately.

Sam Bell, DPM, Schenectady, NY

I use Allscripts here in NY for $33/month. It does not require EHR. You simply sign in to their web portal and set up an account for each patient that requires a prescription, and it electronically transmits your Rx to the patient's pharmacy. It’s very easy to use.

So when do you launch your website? like gomer blog or the onion but podiatry specific?

Probably the only one that I have that might be appropriate for this forum

lol I second the motion that heybrother writes a daily newsletter--there's not much else to do right now!

I feel like a lot is being asked of me around here. Write a newsletter? Quit my poorly paying associate job to start a practice? And I still have to see 3-4 telehealth patients a day? Its just too much.

Anyway. Times are tough. How about a joke to break the mood.

Why did the podiatrist live like a resident?
Cause he was still paid like one. Sorry. She was still paid like one. Equality.
