I currently wear glasses and my eye sight it pretty bad (-4.50 + -5.0) and I have an astigmatism in both eyes. I have tried contacts before but I already have pretty bad dry eyes so I don't like to wear contacts.

I was wondering if anyone had an suggestion for loupe companies that can make prescription loupes and which magnification is recommended.

Supposedly Q-Optics allows for high prescriptions within their loupes. They have pretty good loupes. One of my colleagues had a high prescription and that was the only company that could offer his prescription.

I have a moderate astigmatism in one eye and I use Designs for Vision loupes. Most companies are used to doing prescriptions, so it's not uncommon. What you might want to find out is which frames are available for prescription lenses if you have a style preference. DFV has a more limited selection for rx frames.
