Has anyone else noticed that both the USMLE and COMLEX have gone up $70 bucks this year? What is the deal with that?? First, they introduce this new test that costs a grand, then go up 20% on their other exams?? How is this legal? How do they get away with it?!?!

Oh, yeah. I know - we have no freaking choice but to pay it.

God, I hate being taken by the ball$$$$$$$$$$

BTW, whatever happened to the hippocratic credo of teaching medicine to your teachers children, etc, etc free of charge? I miss those days. Now, it is too much business.

To make you even more upset think of the money they make from the Step II CS exam. They way I figure it there must be ~ 20,000 US grads and about 30,000 foreign grads per year at $1000 a pop. That is FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS. The test is a sham if you ask me. I think it is important to evaluate students, but this should be done by the medical schools. Part of being accredited should be having a stsndardized patient center for your students. That way we can get rid of the exam (except for IMGs) and save each students some $$$$$$$
