My PS basically covered the reasons I want to become a doctor...the reasons I shared in my PS, while specific and anecdotal, would work to define my reasons for either DO or MD school.

Now that I'm working on my secondaries, specifically, why I want to be an osteopathic physician, I can give more detail as to why DO and not MD. For those that have interviewed, or just seem to know everything (and by that I mean more than me), when preparing my secondaries, can I assume that my PS has been read and build on experiences and thoughts in my PS, or does my secondary need to be able to stand on its own as a strong essay?

This is somewhat difficult to answer without specifics. I guess I'd say that secondaries should be able to stand alone. If you refer to a specific experience in both your PS and a secondary essay, it would be appropriate to give enough detail in both so that a reader wouldn't have to refer back to the PS in order to know what the heck you're talking about in the secondary.

Does that answer your question?

i'd never assume that they read anything on the primary. Have you seen some of these secondaries? They ask questions that would easily be answered if they READ the friken primary application.

" Please list and jobs you have had in the last three years"

"What extra curricular activites have you participated in realted to medicine?"

**** like that.....SERIOUSLY? Read the friken primary application.

I'd make an essay strong enough to stand alone. They cant get mad at you for repeating a common theme.

It did, thanks.
