Princeton or Kaplan MCAT Course?

Before investing roughy 1.5-2k on a review course I'd like to know what you guys would suggest and when I should take the review course. Should I take the course while studying on my own simultaneously over next summer or take a course while in school and self study over the summer? Thanks sdnfam

I would say take the course first so you get the books, the quick overviews the course provides, and access to the materials for the duration of your study period.

I would go Princeton since their review books are much better than Kaplans and the online practice tests I've taken are tougher than real MCATs, but have been helping me improve.

When are you planning to take the MCAT?

I'm taking Kaplan right now. The classroom version. I'm doing great on my practice tests and still have a month and a half to go. I would recommend to anyone who has the time and money to take a Kaplan course over the summer. By studying during the summer, you have the opportunity to dedicate all of your time to the test and not have to worry about retaking it as long as you are doing well on your practice tests.

TPR>Kaplan

However, I suggest considering self study. Examkrackers is a very concise version of the least you need to know for the science sections. TBR compliments EK very well if you're looking for a high score. TPR is the best VR prep besides AAMC IMO.
