Hi all,

I'm currently self-studying while working full-time and plan on taking Full lengths throughout and after to see how I am doing but I'm afraid self studying won't be enough for me to reach my goals of 515. With that being said, has anyone completed TPR ultimate course? How does it work and is it effective?

Thanks for the help!

I'm literally in the same boat! I've taken Kaplan previously and found it not helpful. You get access to great resources but the online course really was not helpful. I've also taken an independent MCAT course but had a hard time following the course due to the rigor of my job. I'm now aiming to study full-time and am also afraid of self-studying. This is my second time taking the MCAT (I took the old MCAT in Jan. 2015) and am wondering if the TPR ultimate course is worth it. Or would I be better off buying different tests (EK, NextStep, TPR and Kaplan that comes from buying the book) and taking numerous practice exams?

Thank you all!

These resources are supplemental and best if you have extra time, but getting a high score depends mostly on individual effort and focused studying put in over a consistent period of time. If you're low on time, I wouldn't recommend a course. Because say you only have 2-3 hours a day to study- well that's the "lecture" part of the course. Practice problems and tests are most important.

Thank you @theonlytycrane ! I agree with you in that we have to put in individual effort at the end of the day to do well. My kaplan resources expire this week. Do you have advice on what resource to use for practice questions for various topics without prep course materials? I want to be able to practice online. Thank you!

True. There are options for like a Saturday and sunday class so would that be beneficial if I had "lecture" on the weekends and then studied throughout the week. I'm trying to see if I can cut back to working part time but I just started back at an old job so I don't think I can cut back until January.

Yeah, that can work if you have the time to do so. Are you shooting for a spring test? If so, cutting back in January could still work.

Make sure to work through all of the AAMC stuff, especially the section banks. Those materials will be the most important.
