I signed up a condensed ultimate class offered through TPR. I received my study materials (not yet opened) and wanted to begin my studies however; I cannot have access to the online material until 10 days before my class. So I am thinking of returning the materials and just signing up for the online class which will have the same books but access right away. So those of you who've taken the ultimate class, do you think its worth the wait and the extra $500?

Two options:
1) Crack open your books and begin studying the first few chapters of the science review books (not the workbooks!). You don't need online material to begin studying! The review books are filled with content.
2) You can always contact PR and complain. Even if you have no intention of withdrawing from the class, if you explain your situation and ask for access to the practice tests so you can try one, they may hook you up. "I enrolled in your program early so I could access the online material and try a practice test, but now I can't get access? This is wrong, I enrolled with you because I trusted you to give me the online access to the material and if I don't get that access, I'd like to withdraw from the course and get a full refund!" But I'd stick with option 1 only.

In person class > online class, I'd stick with what you're already enrolled in

Good luck!

I called the office and was a bit shocked at the attitude which was thrown at me. This after I had already purchased the class. Now I am a bit concerned to move forward.

I have three children, taking 15 credits this semester, shadowing and volunteering once a month. I wanted to start content review early. I have my studying planned until my test date so that I can stay on track and hopefully not get too burned out.

I understand the pressure you must be under, but the online resources aren't necessary now. You have more than enough content in the books you have in order to start studying. The online stuff is the same, just delivered differently. And a lot of it is mostly tests anyway.

When is your date, if you don't mind saying?

Don't mind at all. June 21. I just wanted to start taking an exam a week and use the week to review the test while strengthening any concepts I am weak on. I thought the online content was different. Maybe it is just my perception from speaking to the representative, they stated that their "amplifire" was really helpful. I am not familiar with the online content so I am not sure exactly what that meant.

Amplifire is alright. The questions are designed to be answered in quick succession (5-10 seconds each), so they're a bit more basic. They're good to lightly review the material, but to be honest you can live without it for now. You are unlikely to impact your score by doing Amp later, especially if it's in June. Amp questions are from an entirely different question bank so in that sense it's different.

In addition to Amp, there is different content from TPR online, but what I mean is that you're getting great content from the books, and using those to review while you're waiting for the online stuff isn't going to hurt you in the long run. The online stuff reviews the same concepts of course, but it's worth it because of the volume of material. It's a ton of stuff.

Thank you. I think I am going to stick with the BR tests I have and the AAMC tests, if by the class date I don't see a marked improvement, I may go ahead and take the class. My first practice was alright (26) but that was without content review, much of which I have not had in several years so I am hoping with some blood sweat and tears I can get that up to my goal of 35.

Well you'll probably improve on the 26 if that was without much content review. I'd stick with the course if you don't break 30-31.
