How do you print your personal statement in ERAS to see if it fits on one page? When I hit the "print ps" tab and then try to print it, it still has all that garbage on top of the document (Account, Applications, Document, Programs, etc.) and not just my statement. So half of the page is taken up by all that junk.

I asked something similar to this of a residency PD (more, am I right to want to limit it to 1 page so they actually READ is)--

According to him, you can't be sure it will fit to one page on what the programs will get-- it prints out as a continuum, so, depending on what comes before, it may start in the middle of a page.

Best advice is to use Word (or similar word processor) and single-spaced, keep it to ~one page typed. A little more, a little less, not a big deal (as in, 3/4 to maybe 1 and 1/3 at most). Longer, and they will roll their eyes and not read it.

Hope that helps.

Couple of points are noted in the ERAS forum area here. They see your PS as Courier New font 10 point, so start with that in words. Then a PD mentioned some margins he thinks it might be, so you can check that out on ERAS section.
