My status just changed from "No" to "Yes" under whether a decision has been made. Did this happen to anyone else today? Has anyone heard from them recently? I interviewed September 21, or somewhere around then.
 
Is your status "Yes/Yes" or "Yes/No"? There was speculation that if you got the "Yes/No" combination that you should expect the thin letter.
 
Mine still says Yes/No but I interviewed there 10/9...so I still have some time to wait...hopefullyTowlie you will get a call today... good luck if you do let us know
 
i also interviewed 9/21 and got the yes/yes today, also got a message from joni huff saying to call back, didn't get to talk to her but i'm thinking it's probably good news. hopefully the same will happen for you!
 
hey I'm a yes too now, and I also interviewed the 21st, I probly met you guys and didn't know it. did anybody else get a call? i hope they won't be breaking my heart.

Congratulations! (I'm assuming, I've never heard of them calling for any other reason).

I interviewed 9/25 and still have yes/no. I hope it's not going to be another month of silence until they get to my interview day! They can't possibly go that slowly, can they?

Yikes. I didn't get a call, so I guess that's bad news for me.

Ordeliacay, where have you been? I thought you went into witness protection.
 
Hey does anyone know what the deal is with the pre-interview holds??? At first I heard they were basically a rejection, but later I heard that a good chunk get interviews still. Any insight?

Also, I'm in state.. would that help my chances of getting an interview off the hold list?
 
towel - some people get in every year without calls, so there is still hope. also, statistically speaking at least 1 other person would have been called on this thread if they called everyone. at least that's what i'm hoping for!

julius - state status means nothing and i dont know if anybody knows what the hold means. pritzker rolls, though, so i would think if you're going to hear anything it would be soon. i dont think they do many interviews past the first of the year, but i could be wrong.

i also got a call with a phone message saying to call back, AHH im so nervous

out of curiosity, did you guys that got called by joni also interview with her?

apparently, about 25% of the people on hold get an interview(heard this from someone from the admissions department). however, it is expected that you do something to show interest, i.e. update letter, and have done some other things in the time being to make them want to give you an interview.

I heard they won't look at the HOLD files until after January 1st actually.

and 130/561 in-state applicants got interviews in 2005 = 23 %
469/3269 OOS applicants got interviews in 2005 = 14 %
 
I interviewed on the 19th, and I still have a "no". So I dunno what is going on... did they skip me or something?
 
They definitely called with acceptances today since a friend of mine called to tell me that we could be classmates next year if we both go there. I hope you guys get your calls soon so that we can start a class thread. I interviewed with Joni but she was not the one who called me so I think the phone calling duties are distributed randomly to the admissions staff.

As to the people who interviewed early but still have the "no" final decision status- my final decision status did not change until like a week after my acceptance phone call. So you never know. Or perhaps you are being "continued in the process" which is not a waitlist it just means you are going to the next committee meeting.

I interviewed 9/21 ... and my status still says yes/no....

SHOOOOOOOOT...my stomach is now in my thraot...i feel like i'm on my way out 🙁

Nope, we still do a bunch of interviews during winter quarter as well. When I was applying, I interviewed on Jan. 4 or around there and got the call during the last week of March. You're still fairly early in the game as far as I'm concerned.
 
How long did it take for rejections and waitlists to get to those who interviewed in early Sept. and already got responses?

no witness protection, i've just been busy in lab. try not to worry about the lack of a call, and good luck! i did interview with joni, so maybe she's only calling her own group.

my status just changed to "Unknown"

Is that bad news bears?
 
I got the "unknown" status too! I remember there were several people who got that a while ago.... It was either the "continued" thing that caristra is talking about, or it is a waitlist. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
 
hlchess -- i called to inquire about my Unknown and they said i was "continued." But I don't know if it's the same for all Unknowns...

so, just to throw it out there, is continued any better or worse than being waitlisted?
 
Mine still says Yes/Yes but I haven't gotten a phone call. I guess that means it's either an acceptance or an outright rejection, and probably the latter.
 
I called them too, and I'm also "continued". She told me that they'll continue to review our applications, and we'll be put on the waitlist in April if we're not accepted until then. So...I guess it's a little better than a waitlist?
 
How do I get to the status page? I interviewed there last week, and I am not sure how to check on status...
 
my status page also changed to yes/yes but i havent heard anything. did they outright reject me??????? :scared:

yeah i guess we'll just have to wait by the mailbox. after my interview i would be shocked if i got in but i guess we'll wait and see...will be an interesting week with feinberg starting their decisions today or monday...
 
so i called this morning, lady said that my yes/yes meant they HAD made a decision, and were going to call me about it later. so that was exciting, except...i also emailed them last night. and i was told via email that a decision had been made, and i should expect a letter later this week or next week....umm so neither of the informants told me what the actual decision was, and it seems to me that there is a clear contradiction (call-acceptance, letter=rejection)...

this is agonizing. why couldnt either of them just tell me what the decision was, instead of referring to some form of communication that ill receive some time in the future!? 👎

That's weird. Sounds like an acceptance though. With an acceptance, you would receive BOTH a call and a letter, which is consistent with the communications that you had with Pritzker.

Yes, the Committee on Admission made the final decision. You should receive your decision letter by the end of this week or early next week.



Thank you for your interest in the Pritzker School of Medicine"

there wasnt even a period at the end of the last sentence! 🙄 jk.
my real concern is why she didnt say that a phone call would preface the letter. no indication any good news would be heard. and being it's 4:42pm on a friday, ill probably get that rejection letter next monday. +pissed+
 
My status changed to final decision: "Yes" on Wednesday as well. I also thought it was a rejection since I didnt receive a phone call that day or on Thursday. So I was really shocked today to wake up to a missed call and voice mail from a 773 area code. I immediately called back, and I was accepted! I guess they don't always call on the same day so don't lose hope!:luck:
 
To those whose status for Pritzker changed last week...when did you interview?
 
I interviewed at UChicago on 9.7 and my status changed to yes/yes on Wed. I waited on here until Friday and then I called. The lady said a decision had been made and that I would receive a call with the verdict. At 10 AM David Owen called me with an acceptance.

Yes/Yes is very good, and a phone call better. Stay positive!

I'm an MSI at Pritzker and it seems like just yesterday I was in your shoes...I definitely had some dreams about getting calls from the Pritzker AdCom with an acceptance I just watned to say congrats to those of you who have been accepted - Pritzker is an amazing place and I absolutely love it here - and good luck to those of you still waiting. I know it sucks, but hang in there! If anybody has any questions about anything Pritzker-related (and I have no attachments to the adcom whatsoever so I can be honest), I'd be happy to answer them, feel free to send me a PM and I'll give out my e-mail address.
 
to those of you that were accepted, did you guys get a letter in the mail yet from them?

they are driving me CRAZY!!! just now i got an email from Pritzker wishing me Happy Thanksgiving? did anyone else get this? they didnt even mention whether i was accepted or rejected, so im assuming everyone got this. what do you guys think?
 
I did not get the email for thanksgiving...damn
 
Maybe they are planning on calling you on Thanksgiving...that would be pretty cool...anyways hang in there! I did not get the email so they did not send it to everyone...hopefully this is a good sign for you and it does not affect me at all...

i was complete in early august and received an invite around labor day weekend. i think it's variable, but around 3-4 weeks for me.

I got the Thanksgiving email before getting a call. Then I got a call afterwards, saying I was accepted. So I would say it's definitely a good sign... 😀
