Private direct student loan

Wondering if anyone has been able to get a direct student loan recently? I would like to restructure some debt but i'm not sure what the lending environment is like for dental students. This would be a loan outside of the school, not tied to total cost of attendance.

As far as I can tell the only type of non-certified loans are "residency and relocation loans," and they're only available in your 4th year of dental school, or during a residency. The three banks I know of that give them out are PNC, Citibank, and Sallie Mae.

I think wells fargo still has some of that direct loan stuff I've heard for health professionals.
