Private loans

Hey guys,

I received my finaid package but it is short like $2000 from the COA. I know that I would have to take private loans to cover this, but I have absolutely no idea where to start (This is my first time doing the financial aid thing). Anyone have any suggestions as to how do I find these private loans and how to apply? I am completely lost 😕

There's so many options out there besides BOA, though. Try a search of the financial aid thread.

Thanks for the link Tic! So these would be considered student loans like the Stafford and such? Do you have to be enrolled in order to apply at most of these (I saw that BOA requires it)? Thanks!

I know a loan from BOA is a deferred loan, meaning it's like a Stafford in that you don't have to start paying it off until you graduate but can pay down the interest if you want. I don't know if you need to be enrolled or not with most places. Probably, but I'm sure there's somebody out there who'll loan you two grand regardless of your enrollment status.
