A private practice told me they are looking for a full-time contracted clinician. Should I clarify in my reply that I’m only interested in part-time work?

I'm not sure how someone is a "full-time" contracted employee, kind of odd to me. But I digress. I wouldn't waste someone's time in an in-person interview if they are looking specifically for a full-time employee. I'd kindly reply that you appreciate the response, but wanted to clarify you are seeking part-time contract positions which offer 100% Telehealth work opportunities. If this type of position is available with their practice, you would be interested in discussing the position further. If it is not, you appreciate their time and interest and wish them success.

Exactly. Contracting abuse is ubiquitous in mental health private practice.

I've not seen anyone who has or is offering one of these arrangements that isn't in violation of federal labor laws.

I definitely know some medium sized practice owners violating these laws.

Yeah, “full-time” is definitely a flag for someone who may misclassify their (future) employee as a contractor. There are very specific rules that differentiate btw contractor and employee.

For retirement, I plan on getting these jobs and then suing them for treble damages. It sounds like a nice way to see the country and make money.
